The non-governmental organizations are non-profitable establishments that are neither a part of a government or a conventional profitable business. The orientation of such organization refers to the activities procured by it, i.e. human rights, environment, women empowerment, child labor, etc. These organizations may be funded by governments, foundations, businesses or the general public. They play a significant role in the development of the society especially in developing nations. Their main objectives are to promote participation, autonomy and pluralism among the society. The non-governmental organizations enjoy a high proportion of public trust and hence are considered to be a most effective means to communicate and develop the community as a whole, i.e. from the top level and at the bottom till the grass root level. In this review study, we document the growing influence of non-governmental organizations, differential approaches for effectively resolving the common problem; it also encompasses the types, functions, regulations and the administrative capabilities of a typical non-governmental organization.
